--Yellow Friday Folders....I will send them home with your child every Friday. They will contain important papers from school and student work. Please return the folder on Monday so I can fill it up for the next Friday.

--Please fill out all the paperwork given to you last week at the start of school and return ASAP

This past week we have been learning about our classroom and its materials through guided discovery. We went on a school tour guided by clues left by Pete the Cat. Our tour was connected to the Pete the Cat read alouds and projects of the week. We have learned about school expectations and how to earn hearts to fill our class jar to have a celebration.

During Morning Meeting we have been finding letters we know in the morning message. We worked on "pencil" grip during our guided discovery of markers.

We played with some of the toys in the classroom with our new friends. We learned about how to take care of the toys, how to clean up and then modeled how to do so before playing during Explore, which happens at the the end of each day.

Our guided discovery of playdough. Ms. Bell showed us how to use the playdough, play with it and, the most difficult part, clean it up. We are creative and made worms, snakes, birthday cakes, peas, people and more!

We began our math unit on shapes. We know a lot of shapes! We will be working on discussing the attributes of a shape; sides, corners, length of sides, curves. We created pictures using different types of triangles.

Since the first day of school we have been learning about how use and take care of our tools (crayons, markers, glue stick, and scissors) which we keep in our tool box.

During Reading Workshop we had a guided discovery of our classroom library. Ms. Bell demonstrated how to choose a book, read a book, and put the book back. After a few friends also demonstrated how to read a book from our classroom library. Then we all got to choose a spot in the room and read with a partner.
