KINDERGARTEN: The beginning of a great adventure starts in Kindergarten. This time can be the most exciting time in a child’s early years. This time is one of the building blocks of a sound foundation for his/her education.
Encourage Independence: Kindergarten students should be encouraged to be independent, finding their way to their classroom and to the front door. Instruction is just as important if no more in Kindergarten as in any other grade. PLEASE TEACH YOUR CHILD HIS FULL NAME, PARENT'S’ FULL NAME, STREET ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER AND WHERE THE PARENTS WORK. This is not just for school purposes, but it is essential information that all children should know by the time they are 4 years of age for safety purposes. If you and your child are ever separated, you will be glad the child knows this information. Help us make this a special year for all of our children. Let them do as much as possible on their own. We teach responsibility by allowing students to be responsible.
Start Time: Arrive at 7:30AM, so your child has time to get settled and eat breakfast. It can take a Kindergartener several minutes just to put their belongings in their cubbies, find their seat, and adjust to their new environment. You do not want your child to begin their day stressed. Kindergarten Special Classes (Art, Music, STEM, Media, Guidance) start at 8:00AM. You do not want your child to miss these fun classes.
Dismissal: Kindergarten students who ride a car will be brought to the front door by their teacher to greet parents at the normal release time of 3:00 pm. Please pick your child up in the car line and remain in your car.
Bus Riders: A caregiver must be at the bus stop when a Kindergartener arrives home or the bus driver may bring the child back to the school, and it will be the responsibility of the parents to provide transportation home.
Lunch: We encourage you to come to school to eat lunch with your child. Please remember to sign in at the front office.
