• At Stantonsburg Elementary, we believe every child has the innate strengths and abilities to learn and achieve his/her fullest potential. It is our responsibility to foster and nurture this development, so that he/she can be a contributing individual in a democratic society.

• By providing a child-centered environment with consistency in discipline and stated high expectations, we facilitate the development of enthusiasm for learning within each student. Recognizing individual learning styles, a variety of techniques and materials are utilized in order to assure the motivation of each student.

• Acknowledging the various backgrounds, experiences, and abilities of our students, we strive to meet their total needs, whether these needs be social, emotional, physical or intellectual. Since student’s needs are constantly changing, ongoing assessment indicates areas requiring attention, as well as areas of strength.

• We encourage each child to reach his/her fullest academic potential. Actively involving students in the learning process, enables them to demonstrate their achievement through classroom performance, as well as standardized test scores.

• Through the combined commitment of school, home, community, and the child, the student’s educational growth is enhanced. We believe as parents, teachers and administrators, it is our responsibility to aid every child’s development. Successful students give evidence of effective schools.
