INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS FOR STUDENTS: 8:00AM-3:00PM
STUDENT ARRIVAL:
Students are encouraged to arrive at school at 7:30AM. Walkers, car riders, and bus riders may enter the building at 7:30 AM and go directly to their classrooms. Students who wish to eat breakfast may go directly to the cafeteria to grab their breakfast before proceeding to their classrooms to eat. Arriving at 7:30AM gives our students time to get settled, so they are ready to begin instruction promptly at 8:00AM. Students who arrive after 8:00AM will be marked tardy.
NO EARLY DROP OFF:
Students cannot be dropped off earlier than 7:30AM. Students dropped off prior to 7:30AM will not be supervised. To ensure student safety, please do not drop children off before the 7:30AM bell rings.
BUS ARRIVAL:
Students who ride the bus will be allowed to enter the building at 7:30AM, a few students at a time, to ensure safety in the hallways. Students should walk down the hallway in a straight, orderly line, at a level zero.
LATE CHECK-IN:
If a student arrives to school after 8:00AM, a parent should report to the front office to sign in their child before reporting to class. Parents should not drop a child off at the curb after 8:00 AM. It is the parent’s responsibility to see that the child enters safety into the building and is signed in properly. Students who arrive after 8:00AM will be marked tardy. Students who arrive after 11:30AM are welcome to stay, but they will be counted absent for the day.
EARLY CHECKOUT:
Students who have appointments after school must be checked out before 2:30 PM. The school will not check students out between 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM. Persons checking out students may be asked to present a picture ID to verify that they are on the student's Reunification Form. For the purpose of attendance, early checkouts are coded as tardies.
DISMISSAL:
At dismissal, car riders will stay in their classrooms and listen for students' names to be called on the walkie-talkies. Students should remain quiet, so they can hear their name called. When a student's name is called, the student should quickly make their way out to the carpool line. Students should not stop at the Bathrooms on their way out of the building.
DISMISSAL DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER: Dismissal during inclement weather can be hectic. Please ask your child to follow the instructions given to them by any SES staff member. We ask that you not enter the building while we are trying to get students out since we are trying to dismiss students in an orderly manner. Students will be allowed to stay in the hallways out of the weather until their ride picks them up. Teachers will stay with them until all students are safely on their way home.
CAR LINE PROTOCOL
Parents are expected to stay in their vehicles and proceed through the car line. Please proceed with caution when traveling through the car line in order to avoid accidents. Parents are not allowed to pick their child up in the bus parking lot, or to park across the street and walk up to the car rider area to drop off or to receive their child. There are two carpool lanes. The lane closest to the school is meant for quick drop-off and loading of students. Parents should not get out of the cars in this lane. The second lane from the building is for students who may need a little additional time (ex., parents need to buckle their car seat). Parents should not park in this lane, the line needs to keep moving. Parents who need to walk into the building must park in a designated parking space, not in the carpool line.
SCHOOL INDEPENDENCE DAY:
Parents are allowed to walk their children into the building and to their classrooms during the first week of school. On School Independence Day, students begin entering the building on their own. After School Independence Day, parents will need to report to the office if they have school business before walking down the hallways. Teachers are not available during this time for conferences as they are already supervising students.
