Dear parents and carers of Years R, 1, 2 and 3,
Over the past two days, children in Years R, 1, 2 and 3 have been visited by our PSHE curriculum provider, SCARF for some interactive workshops. Caroline from SCARF brought her friends Harold the Giraffe and Tiki the Kangaroo to help teach the following:
Year R - Bouncing back
Children learn the 'superpower' of resilience and help Harold who is feeling fed up! They learn ways to tackle problems and different feelings to bounce back including breathing slowly to help calm themselves if they get frustrated.
If you want to know more about our PSHE curricilum, you can see it on our website: Wicor Primary School - PSHE. SCARF also have parenting support for families on their website: Family SCARF.
Kind regards,
Claire Mapp

Dear Class RM Families
I am writing to let you know that Mrs Slater will not be teaching in class RL this week as she is taking a pre-booked holiday. To cover, we have engaged the services of Cherrie Middleton who knows our school well and who has taught Year R in the past.
Although Cherrie will be in RL she will also be teaching some maths with children in RM. Therefore I do need to alert you to the fact that Cherrie has a severe strawberry allergy. So, we would very much appreciate it if you could avoid sending the children into school with anything containing strawberries, either as a main ingredient like jam or a trace ingredient in cakes. Obviously, fresh strawberries are a big no too.
I know this is inconvenient but I hope you understand that we wouldn't ask if it wasn't hugely important.
The remaining staff are in so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask them. Mrs Slater will be back teaching RL next week.
Thank for your understanding and support.
Kindest regards
Mark Wildman - Headteacher
