At Wicor, our Trug Shop is a unique part of school life, where children sell produce grown on our own school grounds. Through growing, harvesting and selling, they gain a genuine sense of purpose and pride, learning that their work has real value within the wider community.
Running the shop gives children authentic enterprise experience. They handle money, interact confidently with customers, understand the principles of supply and demand, and learn how to present produce effectively. These real-life experiences, rather than classroom simulations, make learning meaningful, memorable and rewarding.
The Trug Shop builds confidence, communication skills and responsibility, while strengthening children's connection to nature. By seeing the direct results of their efforts, pupils learn that care, quality and perseverance matter, and that learning can be practical, purposeful and full of joy.
The Trug, is usually open Friday mornings. Please contact the school office for opening times (01329 237412). We accept cash, cards or ApplePay.
