We have had several reports of near accidents with drivers surrounding our School and would like to remind all parents to please be vigilant when driving near schools and also when parking.  Please could you also avoid parking across the driveways of our neighbours and also not parking on the pavements.

Hello,

We’ve been busy securing vendors for our annual EcoFayre, taking place on Saturday, 16th May 2026, from 10:00–16:00 at Wicor Primary School, Portchester.

This is a completely free event for stallholders - no entry fee, and you keep 100% of your profits. The EcoFayre consistently attracts a strong, enthusiastic footfall and our mission is to inspire and celebrate sustainable living across the community.

Good afternoon,

I am writing to inform you that Hampshire County Council has appointed Mildren Construction Ltd to undertake improvement works on the A27 Segensworth Link (southbound) between M27 Junction 9 and A27 Segensworth roundabout.

These works are required to replace the parapet fence on the east side of the bridge over the railway, with a new taller fence. The roadside safety barriers will also be upgraded. This will enable the next phase of work to take place later in the year on a wider scheme to provide a new walking and cycling route between Segensworth and Whiteley.

The works are scheduled to start Monday 16 February, and they have been planned to take place with minimum disruption to road users – two traffic lanes (narrowed for the period of the work) open during weekdays (Monday-Friday) – with both traffic and lane closures applied overnight and over the weekend of 21-23 February.

Please view the construction programme which outlines the phasing of the construction activities, the planned timings of the traffic restrictions and the diversion route plans. Advance warning signs will be in place at the site.

The temporary road barriers and road layouts will be removed once all works are complete - the timing of which will be confirmed in due course.

Please note that the works are weather dependent and may need to be re-arranged at short notice in the event of adverse weather.

Dear Families

From today, whenever a child has bumped their head in school they will be given a white disposable wristband to wear with the time they bumped their head written on it.  This is a simple way for us to ensure all staff are aware that a child has bumped their head so we can keep an eye on them throughout the day. 

We will still send home a note to advise your child has bumped their head.

Dear families,

As we approach the end of term, we would like to remind families of some important expectations around school uniform and health and safety. We have noticed an increase in a few items recently, and we would appreciate your support in ensuring that all children return after Christmas ready for learning and able to participate safely in all activities.

Fake Nails and Make-Up

Recently, we have seen more children coming into school with fake or acrylic nails. These make it difficult for them to access their learning as they are unable hold a pencil properly or type on a laptop for example. These nails are also distracting as the children fiddle with them and can easily get caught and cause injuries. Fake nails are not allowed in school and if children arrive in school with fake nails, they will be asked to remove them. If they are unable to do so, you will be called. This is in line with local secondary school policies. We have also noticed an increase in children wearing make-up. Please make sure all make-up is removed before school as the children will be required to wash any make up off.

PE Kit

Over the course of the last few terms, there has been an increase in children wearing brightly coloured sweatshirts, t-shirts and shorts some of which are branded. Track suits are regularly football strips which are not part of our school uniform. Children must wear the correct PE uniform as set out in our school policy: black or dark green shorts, a plain white or green t-shirt (no branding) and black or dark green track suits. Plain black leggings can be worn.

Earrings

Health and Safety requires that children should only wear small stud earrings. On PE days, earrings should be removed. If your child wears studs and cannot take them out themselves, please ensure they are able to tape their earrings independently. If children do wear dangly or loop earrings, they will be asked to remove them and leave them out.

Shoes

Due to Health and Safety, Crocs are not suitable shoes for school. Please ensure your children wear black, flat shoes suitable for school and are weather appropriate.
