Dear Parents and Carers,
With SATs fast approaching, we would like to invite you into school for a short meeting to talk through the build-up to SATs week and how the week itself will run.
During the meeting, we will outline the timetable for the week, explain the daily arrangements, and share how we are supporting the children both academically and emotionally. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions and find out how best to support your child at home. SATs week is an important milestone, and we want both children and parents to feel informed, reassured and confident about what to expect. The children have been working incredibly hard and we are very proud of their efforts.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 18th March at 3:30pm in the Year 6 classrooms. Tea and coffee will be available — and there may even be a few biscuits too! Please could you let us know if you plan on attending by completing the form link below:

We hope you are able to join us and look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Danielle Ray, Roxy Sillence and Liz Brignall

Dear families of Year 5 and Year 6
Before Christmas we started Hot Chocolate Tuesdays for children in Year 6.
From next week we are also offering Hot Chocolate to children in Year 5, and it is changing to Hot Chocolate Wednesdays for both year groups.
It does need to be ordered in advance, and will cost 30p a cup.
We have set this up as a Club on Arbor, and you can select and pay for any Wednesday, starting next week, 14th January, until the Easter Holidays. If there is a problem with it going ahead one Wednesday, we would aim to offer it on another day, or carry your payment forward to the following week.
There is a minimum transaction amount of £1.00 if paying on Arbor, so you will need to book at least 5 dates, or you can send your child into school with the cash in an envelope to be given to the office, but this will need to be received by the Tuesday before the Hot Chocolate Wednesday.
If you have any queries, please contact the school office, and we will be happy to help.

Dear Parents,
Today your child will be bringing home a pack of learning resources to support their learning at home — not just over the half-term break, but for the rest of the year.
Inside the pack you will find:
Learning guides for maths and SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) — with games, activities and tips to help make learning fun.
A guide to learning times tables written by Mr Wildman, along with your child’s TT Rockstars login details.
Their usual maths home learning and spelling grid — please note that these are the only two items that need to be returned to school, on the first Monday back.
We kindly ask that you continue to read with your child as often as you can. Even if they are already fluent, discussing what they are reading and asking questions really supports their reading comprehension and vocabulary development.
We have included the learning guides in this email also.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We hope you all have a fun and relaxing half term.
Warm regards,
The Year 6 Team

Dear Parents,
As part of our commitment to fostering an appreciation and understanding of the natural world, Year 6 will be spending time outdoors every week, regardless of the weather. This includes taking responsibility for our stewardship jobs – learning that we are not the only ones who matter, and that we are caretakers of what has been given to us, for ourselves, each other, and those who come after us.
To ensure that children can fully take part in these activities, we kindly ask that:
A waterproof coat is brought into school every day, even if the weather forecast looks fine.
A pair of wellies or waterproof boots is kept in school for outdoor learning and activities.
This will help children stay warm, dry, and comfortable as they explore and care for the world around them.
Thank you for your continued support in encouraging resilience, responsibility, and a love for the outdoors in your children.
Kind regards,
Miss Ray, Mrs Sillence and Mrs Brignall
