Dear Parents,
Today your child will be bringing home a pack of learning resources to support their learning at home — not just over the half-term break, but for the rest of the year.
Inside the pack you will find:
Learning guides for maths and SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) — with games, activities and tips to help make learning fun.
A guide to learning times tables written by Mr Wildman, along with your child’s TT Rockstars login details.
Their usual maths home learning and spelling grid — please note that these are the only two items that need to be returned to school, on the first Monday back.
We kindly ask that you continue to read with your child as often as you can. Even if they are already fluent, discussing what they are reading and asking questions really supports their reading comprehension and vocabulary development.
We have included the learning guides in this email also.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We hope you all have a fun and relaxing half term.
Warm regards,
The Year 6 Team

Dear Parents,
As part of our commitment to fostering an appreciation and understanding of the natural world, Year 6 will be spending time outdoors every week, regardless of the weather. This includes taking responsibility for our stewardship jobs – learning that we are not the only ones who matter, and that we are caretakers of what has been given to us, for ourselves, each other, and those who come after us.
To ensure that children can fully take part in these activities, we kindly ask that:
A waterproof coat is brought into school every day, even if the weather forecast looks fine.
A pair of wellies or waterproof boots is kept in school for outdoor learning and activities.
This will help children stay warm, dry, and comfortable as they explore and care for the world around them.
Thank you for your continued support in encouraging resilience, responsibility, and a love for the outdoors in your children.
Kind regards,
Miss Ray, Mrs Sillence and Mrs Brignall
