Y2 litter-picked in Porchester highstreet and here's how they felt:
"I felt sad because animals are eating rubbish."
"I felt upset about humans littering around the world."
"I felt sad for the animals because they can't find a home without plastic."
"I felt angry."
The children channelled these feelings into doing something positive for the community.
Fareham Men’s Shed helped us improve our site by creating a sturdy new shelf for our greenhouse and repairing our welly racks. Both projects were made using repurposed materials, giving items a second life instead of sending them to waste.
This partnership highlights how simple, practical fixes can support recycling and sustainability. By reusing materials already available, we reduce our environmental impact while keeping our spaces functional and well‑maintained.
