Architectural Problems – 0802 Full Year – 1 Credit Grade 10 – 12

This course will introduce students to the interesting field of Architecture. Students will learn to draw site foundations, framing, floor plans, exterior elevations, and 3-D renderings using industry standard programs AutoCAD and Revit. Topics such as residential architecture, construction techniques and careers in the field of architecture are all topics that will be addressed. Designs will be conveyed through several mediums including manual drafting, computer-aided design, and model making. Students will have the opportunity to utilize advanced computer aided machines like Laser engraver, CNC mill, an0d 3-D printers to create working models and prototypes. Successful completion of this course is required for advancement to Architectural Design.
Students will have the option of taking this course for college credits through the Farmingdale State University in the High School Program.
