Personal Finance - 0601 Half year-1/2 credit (may also run alternate days for a full year) - 0602

This course is a MUST have for all students! Imagine someone gave your $500...would you throw it away? Millions of people throw away their money by not managing their finances properly.  Learn how to spend wisely and make your money grow.  You will learn how to manage your bank accounts, maintain good credit and how to make your money work for you.  Did you know prices are set a specific way to make you spend more money? Come learn all about this while you become financially savvy and secure.




Accounting - 0603 - Full year - 1 credit - Grades 10-12

Prerequisite: none

Accounting is not just for those who want to be accountants! Have you ever thought about starting your own business? If so, you need to know how to manage and record your finances. Have you ever thought about investing in a corporation (stocks/bonds)? If so, you need to know how a business reports its financial information as well as how to analyze this information. (College Accounting is also available for college credit for juniors and seniors). In addition, computer software used in the accounting field will be introduced (Quickbooks and Excel). 

This course may be used as a third math credit.



College Accounting -0613 - Full year - 1 Credit - Grades 11 - 12

Prerequisite: None

This course provides college - level introduction to accounting, fulfilling the needs of those planning to major in any business field at the college level. In addition, computer software used in the accounting field will be introduced (Quickbooks and excel).  **This course may be used as a third credit.

Students (Grades 11 -12 only) will have the option of taking Accounting for 3 college credits through Farmingdale State University and the Suffolk County Community College Beacon Program.
