Day School News

September 13, 2020

Dear Day School Community,

Day School faculty and staff are so excited to see students on the first day of school! Teachers have been busy preparing their classrooms at Day for the arrival of our pod A hybrid students and their online classrooms for our pod B hybrid students. We are also looking forward to welcoming our remote learning academy students to their first day in their virtual classrooms. By now, you and your child should have received a welcome letter from his or her classroom teacher. The letters have information about supplies and login information for their Google classrooms.

Third graders will have their own orientation day on Tuesday, September 15. Please see the details below for more information about third grade orientation day. Please join us for a virtual information night about our elementary instrumental program on Thursday, September 17 at 6:30PM.

To help you with planning, we have included pod information on the WPS calendar. A copy of this calendar with pod weeks can be found at the end of this newsletter.

Have a great school year everyone!

Sincerely,

Chris Louis Sardella, Principal

Drive around the flagpole to the front of the school building where Day staff members will be on hand for distribution. Please have a placard with the student's name, grade level, and teacher name posted in your passenger side window so we can efficiently distribute materials. Cub Scouting

Interested in Cub Scouts? Westford is home to 3 Cub Scouting packs. We welcome boys and girls in grades K-5. If you were unable to come and meet our packs at the Farmers Market, but would like to learn more, please visit our Westford Cub Scouting page:

At such a tumultuous time, scouting gives our youth a sense of normalcy. It is a chance to interact with their peers, and provides structure as they progress through adventures and rank advancement. This helps children build confidence and remains a constant in their life. The Spirit of Adventure scouting council follows the current government regulations for health, safety and social distancing.
