Musician of the Month
This month, music students will listen to the Georgia Sea Island Singers. This ensemble formed in the early 1900s to share their Gullah heritage and music. Save Your Vision Month
March is “Save Your Vision Month”. This is the month the American Optometric Associations promote eye health and encourage people to get a comprehensive eye exam.
A few tips for healthy eyes:
Get an annual eye exam. Annual eye exams can detect eye disease early. They can reveal health issues such as high blood pressure, stroke risk and autoimmune diseases.
Protect eyes from UV rays by wearing sunglasses with 100% UV protection.
Eat foods rich in lutein and zeaxanthin found in dark leafy greens, broccoli and eggs. Also omega-3 fatty acids in salmon and green tea.
Proper hydration maintains eye lubrication and reduce dry eye symptoms.
Sitting 25 inches from your screen and reducing non-essential screen time in the evening. Remember to take a digital break every 20 minutes. Use the 20/20/ 20 rule : take a break every 20 minutes and focus on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Westford Academy Last Night
This year, the Westford Academy Class of 2026 will graduate on June 5, 2026. While high school may feel like a lifetime away for your child, you may have a neighbor, babysitter, or coach who is part of the Class of 2026. Help give the seniors an amazing send off at Last Night, a substance free event held at Westford Academy where students play games, win prizes and enjoy entertainment together. It takes over 300 volunteers and generous donations from the community to pull off this annual event for the graduating seniors. By volunteering your time, or donating a raffle item, or monetary donation, you are helping to keep this tradition alive. We want this event to continue on for all of our kids for years to come but can't make it happen without your help. For more details on this incredible event, visit walastnight.org
