The one thing we have learned over the years is you will never be disappointed by one of our field days. It is a tremendous production! Our PE and Wellness teacher Erin Claycomb put in so many hours of her time and creativity to make this event such a huge success. She spent hours making the props for the video games including the Mario Karts, the Minecraft pieces, and even a full replica of the Green Monster at Fenway. The students instantly connected with the theme and were so engaged throughout the day. Who didn't love all the dances and singing during the opening ceremonies?
We want to give a big shout out to Erin Claycomb, our head custodian Jose DeMelo, and parent volunteers Nathan Willems, Bob Motavalli, and Cheri Fisher for arriving at the crack of dawn to set up all of the stations. Thank you to Josh Hoffman for donating new garden hoses to supply water to all of our stations and a cooler for the frozen treats. Thank you to the teachers and staff for supporting and cheering for the students as they had the best day ever! We also had over 50 parent volunteers who made this day incredibly successful.
Thanks to the incredible coordination of the parents, all stations ran smoothly, the delicate cardboard go-karts survived the day, and the kids had an absolutely unforgettable experience! We could not have done this without your help. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Chris Louis Sardella, Principal

Field Day Highlights
The Wet & Wild Zones: Water was the ultimate weapon today. Volunteers at Fortnite ran a massive water-blaster battle, while the Super Mario Brothers and Sonic's Sprint Challenge crews bombarded running students with water bombs and hose sprays. At Minecraft, parents stepped up as "creepers" and "chicken jockeys" to chase and squirt the kids.
The Big Battles: In Super Mario Brothers, Phil Johnson took on the role of Bowzer the dragon, anchoring a station where kids threw water bombs directly at him. Meanwhile, the MLB the Show and Rocket League crews kept the energy high, safely managing chaotic scooter-soccer matches and retrieving home-run balls hit over the "Green Monster."
Strategy & Skill: Volunteers at Slay the Spire walked around with treasure chests of cards and squeezed massive car sponges over players' heads, while the Paperboy and Madden teams kept accurate scores and monitored safe, high-speed movement on "hop-its."
A Well-Deserved Rest: When the kids needed a break from the heat, the NBA 2K/Frozen Treat crew kept them fueled up by passing out ice-cold treats and managing a fierce game of basketball "Knock Out."

Westford Cultural Council
The Westford Cultural Council supports cultural, educational, & community programming through grant funding for the benefit of Westford residents.
We have launched a 2026 Community Input Survey to gather feedback from the community about the types of programs, events, and initiatives residents would like to see supported in the future. We hope Westford Public Schools teachers and employees will also complete the survey so that we can capture input from the school community as well.

The survey will remain open through June 30, 2026
