At the annual ServICE conference, me and a classmate of mine held a booth for Thailand Animal Shelter in order to raise funds for shelter and proper food for rescued animals. We would tell people about our cause and try to locate any prospective collaborators who were passionate about saving animals from abusive owners and slaughterhouses. As a result, we were able to raise over 5,000 baht, and gained many interested students as part of our team.
An obstacle we faced was planning on what we were going to say, and how we could keep peoples' attention at this busy fair. Nevertheless, the script we had planned went accordingly thanks to the teamwork between the TAS (Thailand Animal Shelter) team and my fellow classmate, as we were able to deliver all the necessary information to passer-bys within a short timespan.
From this I learned the importance in collaborating for a good cause since we all brainstormed ideas of how to communicate our cause to people from different walks of life, and bring them together through wanting to support a good cause of helping entities that cannot help themselves.
