First Round:
(reviewing veggies)
During online school I volunteered to teach primary kids sign language. While it was challenging as I was only learning these gestures a few days beforehand I thought it was a wonderful learning experience because it taught me how to work under pressure in a team as we had to find a way to hold the children's attention for 45 minutes while teaching them something new. It also taught me how to be more patient since me and the people I worked with had to play the mature roles while our students got restless and voiced all their opinions and thoughts even if they weren't always the most appropriate.
I would definitely qualify this as 'service' because I volunteered twice to help teach these kids something new, and to do my part in spreading the awareness of communication methods, since there is little representation of ASL in our communities. I was able to hone my own skills as well, by practicing it before teaching. Overall, it was a good experience I was glad to have been able to participate in two separate times.
Second Round:
