As part of the hiking club at my school, I visited a mountain in Nakhon Nayok located around an hour and a half outside of Bangkok. Although this hike was a mere 4km, the incline was quite steep and posed quite the challenge to my stamina. However, it was still a very rewarding hike with a breathtaking view of the town below.
The obstacles I faced were mental and physical. Mentally, I had to prepare myself for the exhaustion I was going to face as I was unsure if I would even be able to finish the hike on my own. Nevertheless, I wanted to physically challenge myself since I do not usually exert myself to such a high degree, thus I was able to reach the top of the mountain in the end, even though I was exhausted and mentally drained.
From this, I recognize the benefit of working collaboratively since I wouldn't have been able to do this without my friends also supporting me along the steep path. Furthermore, they made the hike more entertaining since we were able to stabilize one another especially on slippery pathways. However, I also was able to show great perseverance and commitment to finishing this hike despite nearly quitting halfway.
