Songkran break was a very stressful time period before the exams which encouraged me to indulge in stress-relieving activities on my breaks from revision, namely crochet.
I was unable to crochet as much as I would have liked to given the time constraints placed upon me, but I still wished to craft something wearable in my daily life which led me to crocheting a beret.
In the beginning I had little luck and was forced to restart the project twice as I had missed important instructions in my hurry to finish. The realization I would have to go slow and steady, given my intermediacy at the craft was one of the most important obstacles I had to overcome to accept, since I tend to grow impatient with tedious tasks.
As such, crocheting was rather counter-productive since it induced feelings of stress and impatience however by the time I got the hang of things I was able to relax and pace myself, allowing me to finish the project over the course of three days.
This project has inspired me to continue taking on ambitious projects even if they may push my limits since patience is an important virtue, and one must make continuous efforts to practice as such.
Show commitment and perseverance - I committed to finishing the beret despite my impatience, and instead of quitting, put in consistent efforts towards finishing.
Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth - I have learned that patience is an area for growth, but have acknowledged that my diligence throughout the later stages of the experience is a new-found strength.
