Fall Out Boy - Mania

8/10

Three years after American Beauty Fall Out Boy consisting of members Patrick Stump, Joe Trohman, Pete Wentz, and Andy Hurley return with Mania released on January 19, 2018. The album began its development while the group was on their American Beauty Tour with the members seeing it as a fresh start for the band name. The records leading songs include “Hold Me Tight or Don’t”, “Young And Menace”, “Champion” and “The Last Of The Real Ones”

“Hold Me TIght or Don’t” is a dance song with a hook that cools down before the chorus breaks into the song. “Young And Menace” is more so an Electronic song with lyrics leading up to its breakdown. Rock vibes are more so seen in the song “Champion” which creates invigorating feelings in the listener due to its guitar riffs and unique vocals. The final significant song “The Last Of The Real Ones” has pop undertones with more rock influence which is again carried by the lead vocalist Patrick Stump.

Fifty Shades Singles

7/10

A few artist have released their songs that will be featured in the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack this February. The artist are Rita Ora, Liam Payne, Hailee Steinfeld, and Bloodpop. Rita Ora and Liam Payne released the single “For You” while Hailee Steinfeld and Bloodpop released “Capital Letters.” Both songs were released early January and gained generally positive reviews. “For You” is deep love ballad like the other lead songs found in the past two movies in the franchise. It has a nice hook that leads to a rich chorus filled with a beautiful rush of instruments. “Capital Letters” is a more so mindless pop song but still enjoyable to listen to in the background. Overall the two songs both are a sign of what's to come from the album as the movie approaches its release on February 9, 2018.
