Skylar Reckner is a sophomore in Art II. She took art because art interests her, and it’s a nice break in her day. Skylar has taken art on and off since kindergarten. She hasn’t fully thought it through, but she will definitely stay in art through school and possibly into college. Painting is her favorite art media and the onomatopoeia piece was her favorite project. The onomatopoeia piece was an object that represented the onomatopoeia word and then cut out of different fonts of the same onomatopoeia word. Skylar feels that the easiest part of this project was selecting an image and the hardest part was cutting out the shapes. This project was her favorite because of the different values. Skylar is now working on a plaster mold of her hand.

Danielle Borders is a senior in Art III. Danielle decided to take art because she finds it to be the most fun class. She has been in art since seventh grade, however, she skipped her freshman year. As much as she enjoys art, she will not be continuing it in college. Independent art is her favorite because she can choose what she wants to do on her own and not have to follow any rules. Danielle’s watercolor canvas painting is her favorite piece she has ever done. She created this piece last year in Art II. This piece was created by using watercolors and sand for the island. Danielle is now making a watercolor landscape paper.

Rylee Campbell is a senior in Art IV. She has always liked art and how it helps people express the things they love, but it also clears her mind and helps her relax. Rylee has been in art all throughout high school and whenever she could in middle school. Rylee plans to minor in art in college. The window painting is her favorite art piece so far this year. To create this piece, Rylee painted on a window in reverse order. Rylee states “The easiest part was drawing it out, but the hardest part was trying to paint without it taking off other paint.” Right now, she is working on either a self portrait or a ceiling tile painting.
