Assignment Details: 

• Pick a unit and look for a lesson that demonstrates the active learning method.

• Write a 2-3 page paper with an overview of your chosen lesson and what students will be doing and how you feel students would react.  Answer the following questions:

  • What lessons will you have to teach prior to this lesson to create the atmosphere for active learning.

  • What's the objective of the lesson?

  • How can you encourage collaboration or cooperation within the lesson for your students?

  • What standards can you connect this lesson to for one of your core subjects? (math, science, SS, LA)

  • What evidence will you have of student learning? (How will you know if they got it?)

Assignment Details: 

• Develop a CS unplugged lesson that uses the structure of the lesson on pages 78-82.

• Your lesson needs to be noticeably different in subject from this lesson -- you are just building off of that structure.

• Use something specific to your school or classroom.

 Share how this lesson will be part of your teaching.

• What standards for CS does it meet?

• What content standards does the lesson meet? (Math, Lang. Arts, Social Studies, Science)

• How will you know that students met the standard. (assessment)

• What could you do to build on this lesson for future lessons?

• What creative ways could you find to do a lesson like this for virtual learning online?
