Alumni Charlotte Gough ('23) of Ogdensburg and her family are fostering Odin, a two-year old German Shepherd-Husky mix. Odin is a member of the Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pets organization. GAFSP is an organization based out of Texas that finds foster homes for pets while their owners are being deployed; this includes first responders, service members, and wounded soldiers. Not only is this a great option for the care and safety of their animals while they are away, but also provides ease for pet owners knowing their pets are in a safe and loving environment.
Odin was discovered by the Gough family on a Facebook ad from a volunteer at GAFSP. Charlotte and her father sent the ad to their family group chat at the same time! After messaging the volunteer, they found out that Odin was located in Sussex County. They then set up a meeting for Odin to visit the Gough residence to meet the family, as well as their other dog, Jethro. A successful meet and greet it was! Odin was the perfect addition to the Gough household and they couldn’t be more excited.
"Odin being cute as always- note all the toys in the back- he will literally sit and take out every single toy from the toy basket," says Charlotte.
Charlotte can't say enough about these adorable furry friends! "Odin and Jethro together- they are becoming best friends. The size difference is insane- Jethro is a medium-sized dog, but Odin is huge! When he stands on his hind legs he’s nearly 6 foot tall!"
So far, Odin has adjusted greatly to his new home! According to Charlotte, “He is incredibly energetic since he’s still a puppy and he has a MASSIVE personality. Odes is extremely sweet and the biggest lovebug I’ve ever known. He’s a big snuggler and my personal heater on cold nights.” Odin’s mom is currently being deployed for about a year, and “she is so sweet and so incredibly brave for helping to protect our country!” Charlotte adds.

"Odin supports Taylor’s bf- his mom is a huge Swiftie and so am I so we HAD to get him a shirt for the big game! Jethro also got a shirt- but he wasn’t too thrilled" Charlotte says with a laugh.
