MANĀKITANGA
Kōrero pai i ngā wā katoa. Whakaaro pai ki ngā tangata kātoa.
Speak nice things all the time. Think good things about all people.
We will achieve this by:
Knowing how we feel when we are angry or frustrated and stopping and taking some deep breaths before we say anything out loud
Using THINK - Is it: True? Helpful? Inspiring? Necessary and Kind? If it doesn't tick the boxes, don't say it!
Give others the benefit of the doubt, maybe they did it by accident, or didn't mean what they said. People make mistakes and we need to remember that.
Respecting each others’ personal boundaries
Knowing when to ask for help or let someone know that you want time out
Know what the break-out rooms are for, when we go in them, and how to behave in them
Knowing how our mood affects our learning and others
Respecting others and the way they are feeling
Using kind words that make people feel great
Success Indicator:
We will be calmer and have less arguments and fights
Our class will be calmer and more controlled helping us to learn better
We will be thanked for our thoughtfulness
We will feel respected and cared for when people speak to us using kind words
We will feel safe and happy in our personal space and in our classroom
We can continue to improve and develop our reputation in a positive way
