MANA
Knowing and sharing my zone of regulation
Me he maonga āwhā - Like a lull in a storm.
This is used to describe a sudden pause in a heated discussion or argument. It tells us that we need to take a moment within times of intense feelings to settle ourselves and to take the time to pause and reflect.
We will achieve this by:
Knowing the colours and ngā atua that describe the way we are feeling
Being able to identify our feelings
Keeping our names on the Mana potential board in the correct zones as we change during the day
Noticing when others are in a zone where they may not want to be talked to
Respecting each others’ personal boundaries
Knowing when to ask for help or let someone know that you want time out
Know what the break-out rooms are for, when we go in them, and how to behave in them
Thank others for helping us
Knowing how our mood affects our learning and others
Respecting others and the way they are feeling
Using kind words that make people feel great
Success Indicator:
We will better know ourselves and what we can do to help ourselves and others
Our class will be calmer and more controlled helping us to learn better

We will be thanked for our thoughtfulness
We will feel respected and cared for when people speak to us using kind words
We will feel safe and happy in our personal space and in our classroom
We can continue to improve and develop our reputation in a positive way
We will know what to do for our learning
