MANĀKITANGA

Tū whakamihia - respecting others

We will achieve this by:

  • When someone says no, or stop, then we stop

  • Apologising when we make mistakes

  • Asking before we use or touch someone else's property

  • Keep our hands and feet to ourselves

  • Thank others for helping us

  • Know that not everyone thinks the way we do and that is ok

  • Using kind words that make people feel great - kōrero pai

  • We will listen to the speaker by watching them, keeping quiet and taking in what they are saying

  • Open doors for staff and students who need help

  • Follow instructions the first time

  • Do your job once and do it properly

  • Help others whenever we can

Success Indicator:

  • We will better know ourselves and what we can do to help ourselves and others

  • Our class will be calmer and more controlled helping us to learn better

  • We will feel respected and cared for when people speak to us using kind words

  • We can continue to improve and develop our reputation in a positive way

  • When you help someone, you will feel proud of yourself and they will feel proud of you

  • We will be thanked for our thoughtfulness

  • We will feel safe and happy in our personal space

  • We will know what to do for our learning
