Some good-to-know information about the carbon pellets in our filters.
For your reference, the filter with a yellow light is an old filter, and the one with a blue light is a new one.
From Gina: "The placement of the charcoal still doesn't matter. And IF the Blue light filter is the newer one, then it is even better since the particle is passing through the center of charcoal. Our filters are the most efficient and environmentally friendly and the design gets the best airflow which improves the unit's performance without seeing any degradation to air quality. The carbon filter has holes for maximum airflow. The air flowing into the charcoal filter is already cleaned by the HEPA filter, the carbon filter removes the order. The particles do not have to physically touch the charcoal for it to absorb the scent, it just needs to pass through the filter for it to absorb the scent of the particles."
Example:
When we purchase new shoes, in the shoebox comes a little packet with beads in it. The beads remove the smell from the box, the odor gets absorbed from the shoebox without the scent particles touching or flowing through the packet. Same idea.
Note:
Nothing has changed in regards to the carbon pellets.
There is always a tolerance on carbon weight in each filter.
The carbon filter performance is tested for each lot and tested by Intertek.
