In mathematics key stage 3 is years 7-8 and Key Stage 4 is years 9-11. 

The Key Stage 3 curriculum is designed to be the foundation at which key stage four in built upon. It is about taking mathematical concepts and methods and embedding them securely ready to be built upon for Key Stage 4

Key Stage 4 runs across three years to ensure all content is covered in the correct depth required to succeed in GCSE. The mathematics exam board is Edexcel https://qualifications.pearson.com/en/qualifications/edexcel-gcses/mathematics-2015.html and is split into higher (grades 4-9) and foundation tiers (grades 1-5) it is possible to secure a standard or good pass on either tier. Those who are looking to continue mathematics or science through college will need to follow the higher pathway.
