Per the Research and Innovation website, Summit, which is a proposal development and internal submission system that simplifies the process of initiating a proposal, developing the associated budget, and obtaining needed approvals
OSP conducted Proposal Process Training for new faculty. A video recording of the training is linked on the site.
Target due date in Summit Proposals will be 5 business days prior to sponsor deadline.
Budget must be approved by OSP and can only be changed after approval under extreme circumstances.
Complete proposal including “substantially complete” Statement of Work must be provided for review.
Based on sponsor/requirements, VT OSP will create checklists in Summit regarding specific requirements including, but not limited to, disclosures, current/pending, biosketch, research security training.
VTNSI pre award cannot submit until OESRC has provided a response after review.
There is a process to request an exemption, but limited in what qualifies. Submit your request to VTNSI pre award and they will coordinate with OSP.
