Thank you for ensuring everything went smoothly – this day truly went off without a hitch! The organization was top-notch, and the kids had a blast! We also want to recognize the incredible support from the AMPEL team for stepping in and taking a day out of instruction to help run the stations. The community was very impressed with how calm and well-organized the gym felt. Your teamwork and enthusiasm made this day one to remember! Thank you all for making Math Madness a memorable and positive experience!

A big shoutout to Ms. Sara and Jessica Thibeaux for working so well together! These two help our behavior team focus on student interventions and create spaces that support both proactive and reactive needs. We're so grateful for all the work they do to support students with high behavioral needs. They also help with cleanup, making sure everything is taken care of. LEAP Practice Tests 24-25
In order to provide students with another opportunity to practice using the online tools for LEAP testing, we will administer the ELA and math practice test in DRC. Previously, reports were not provided for the practice test in DRC but that has changed. You will now have access to reports on student responses.
LEAP Practice Test 2024-2025
Grades 3 and 4 will complete the ELA and Math practice test in DRC on April 14 nd 15.
These practice assessments are to provide the students with a simulated experience of the LEAP 2025 assessment. This allows the teachers to remind students of test taking strategies that they should be using. (A time for teachers to tell the students what they would want to say during the real test but can't.)
Monday, April 14, 2025-
Grade 3 ELA Session 3 (75 minutes) done independently including writing prompt and Math Session 1(75 minutes) done independently
Grade 4 ELA Session 2 (90 minutes) done independently including writing prompt and Grade 4 Math 1(75 minutes) done independently
Tuesday, April 15, 2025-

Grade 4 ELA Session 3 (90 minutes) done in collaborative groups excluding writing prompt and Math Session 2 (70 minutes) done independently
Math Session 3 for both grades 3 and 4 can be used to review.
Review missed ELA items with students on Wednesday and Thursday.
Purpose :
Provide students with the opportunity to experience testing in ELA and math in timed sessions.
Provide teachers the opportunity, during the practice test sessions, to give students feedback and guidance on the process of testing, not content. Teachers should emphasize testing strategies, directions, and instructions.
The Practice Test is not to be used as a grade.
The Science Practice test can be given on Monday, April 28. The science practice test is in Pear Assessment for both grades 3 and 4.
There is currently no social studies practice test.

As many of you know, Mrs. Jayde has accepted a new opportunity outside the district, and her last day was Thursday. Let’s give Mrs. Amanda a warm welcome as she helps us finish the year strong!
Classroom Rostering
Teachers, we are in the process of creating a schedule for grade-level teams to meet and discuss student placement for the upcoming year. To prepare for this, each teacher will need to complete a placement card for every student in your class (pink for girls, blue for boys). The cards will be placed in your box this week, and we ask that they be completed by the time we meet in May. We are still finalizing the May calendar, but this discussion will likely take place during the second-to-last or last week of school.
The goal is to balance the caseloads across grade levels. Special education resource teachers will need to be present for these meetings.
We value your insight and expertise in understanding your students, and we appreciate your help in creating balanced caseloads. (Please note: 5th grade teachers do not need to complete this.) Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

½ on Aug 11
All on Aug. 12

⭐LEAP Testing Rewards ⭐
Raffle System: Sharing this ahead of time! Grades-3-5, you can begin to discuss this with your students!
We will introduce a raffle this year.
Each day, students will earn a ticket by meeting established expectations and demonstrating their best effort on the assessment.
Two students will be selected from each homeroom in a daily drawing, with prizes awarded to encourage and recognize their dedication.
Students who meet the expectations for all 5 days of testing will get the chance to throw a ball and hit the target to dunk Mrs. Jessica or Mrs. Mary in a water-filled tank! It’s your shot at some splashy fun!
🎉DIBELS MOY to EOY Incentive🎉
We’re kicking off the second half of the year with a fun and motivating AR reading challenge! Each week, we’ll be tracking the progress of every homeroom in AR reading, and the class with the highest AR points earned in a week in each grade level will earn some awesome rewards! 🎯
The winning students will get an extra snack from the snack cart 🍪, and the reading teachers will get to pick a treat and drink from the teacher cart! 🥤🎉
To be considered for the incentive, each class in each grade will need a minimum of 80% of their students to complete 3 or more on-grade level lessons each week. The class that has the most on-level lessons completed, with at least 80% of its students completing the lessons, will earn an extra snack from the snack cart each week.
If there is a week in pacing where only 2 lessons are taught, you will need to assign another on-level lesson during that week.
