Remember, after a student has had four minors, the process starts over again.
Example:
Classroom Discipline Plan- Minor 1
Classroom Discipline Plan- Minor 2
Classroom Discipline Plan- Minor 3
Classroom Discipline Plan- Minor 4 = Major
At this point, you would create a new minor infraction form for the student and start back from the top (Classroom Discipline Plan- Minor 1).
At the start of each grading period, every student starts back from the top with a new minor infraction form.
Should there be a behavior that warrants an immediate minor infraction rather than using the classroom discipline plan prior, that is permissible as well. See the minor vs. major chart below.
A minor infraction versus a conduct mark depends of the severity of the action. Use teacher discretion.
This process occurs once students have reached their fourth minor infraction OR when there is a major incident as described in the Major vs. Minor document above.
Open up JCampus.
Click on the "Discipline" tab.
Click on "Post Discipline".
PAGE 1 (RefPG1)
Click on "Name" and select a student from your class list.
Click on "Staff ID and Name" and select your name from the list of teachers.
Click on "Time Code" to record the time of the referral.
Click on "Location" and record where the incident took place.
Under "Incidents", click under "Code" for a pop-up list of options. These incident code comes from the new Behavior Matrix. The tab at the top of this page can be used to access this matrix.
Under "Public Remarks", describe the incident objectively. Remember, parents and Central Office can see these remarks.
PAGE 2 (RefPG2)
Click under "Code-Action Taken by Teacher, Bus Driver, or Other Employee". Here, you must code it as #6 (Referred to Office-Major). Otherwise, administrators will not be notified.
Contact the parent or guardian and record the date and time of contact.
Click under "perpetrators" and find the student's name. NEVER PUT THE NAME OF A WITNESS.
Click "Teacher" on the bottom of this page.
SAVE and you are done.
