⭐STAR STUDENT BREAKFAST⭐
Friday, April 18
Good Friday- No School
Shouting out our amazing Kindergarten, first, second, and third grade teachers for the incredible growth our students showed on the EOY DIBELS assessment! Your hard work and dedication really paid off, and we couldn’t be more proud of the progress your students made.
This year, you all showed so much flexibility, adapting to new ways of teaching and learning. Whether it was trying out new strategies, learning new tools, or just being there for your students in creative ways, you truly went above and beyond. Your commitment and ability to roll with the changes made all the difference, and we’re so thankful for everything you do!
🌸 Help Us Celebrate! 💼💐
Since we’ll be out for Spring Break, we’re celebrating Secretary's Day on Wednesday, April 16th — because these two incredible ladies deserve all the recognition and more!
We are so thankful for Mrs. Angie Landry and Mrs. Cartnee Gaspard for everything they do in the office and for our school. From managing phone calls, paperwork, and parent questions to comforting students and supporting staff — they are truly the heart of our front office. ❤️🏫
We are incredibly lucky to have them as part of our Patriot family. Thank you both for your dedication, kindness, and all the little things you do that make a BIG difference. 💕🙌
Join us in showing your appreciation on Wednesday, April 16th! You are encouraged to allow your students time to create cards and pictures to show appreciation for all they do!
Let’s make them feel the love they give all year long! 🥰👏🎉
Bus Driver Appreciation
Although Bus Driver Appreciation Day falls during our spring break, we don’t want to miss the chance to recognize the amazing individuals who play such an important role in our Jr. Patriots’ day! We will be celebrating our incredible bus drivers on Monday, April 28 to show them just how much we value all they do.
Every morning and afternoon, our bus drivers greet students with a smile, ensure their safety, and get them to and from school with care and dedication. Rain or shine, early mornings or late afternoons—they’re there, making a difference.
To help show our appreciation, we encourage all teachers to allow time for students to create heartfelt cards, drawings, or letters to express their gratitude.
Let’s come together to make this a special day for the people who help start and end our students’ school days on the right foot. 💙🚌❤️
End of the year Checklist is here already and will be emailed out on Monday!

LEAP Practice Tests 24-25
In order to provide students with another opportunity to practice using the online tools for LEAP testing, we will administer the ELA and math practice test in DRC. Previously, reports were not provided for the practice test in DRC but that has changed. You will now have access to reports on student responses.
LEAP Practice Test 2024-2025
Grades 3 and 4 will complete the ELA and Math practice test in DRC on April 14 nd 15.
These practice assessments are to provide the students with a simulated experience of the LEAP 2025 assessment. This allows the teachers to remind students of test taking strategies that they should be using. (A time for teachers to tell the students what they would want to say during the real test but can't.)
Monday, April 14, 2025-

Math Session 3 for both grades 3 and 4 can be used to review.
Review missed ELA items with students on Wednesday and Thursday.
Purpose :
Provide students with the opportunity to experience testing in ELA and math in timed sessions.
Provide teachers the opportunity, during the practice test sessions, to give students feedback and guidance on the process of testing, not content. Teachers should emphasize testing strategies, directions, and instructions.
The Practice Test is not to be used as a grade.
The Science Practice test can be given on Monday, April 28. The science practice test is in Pear Assessment for both grades 3 and 4.
There is currently no social studies practice test.

EOY Google Meets
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the EOY Google Meet for your grade level. This is an excellent place for you to share feedback for the year for curriculum and learning.
Classroom Rostering
Teachers, we are in the process of creating a schedule for grade-level teams to meet and discuss student placement for the upcoming year. To prepare for this, each teacher will need to complete a placement card for every student in your class (pink for girls, blue for boys). The cards will be placed in your box this week, and we ask that they be completed by the time we meet in May. We are still finalizing the May calendar, but this discussion will likely take place during the second-to-last or last week of school.
The goal is to balance the caseloads across grade levels. Special education resource teachers will need to be present for these meetings.
We value your insight and expertise in understanding your students, and we appreciate your help in creating balanced caseloads. (Please note: 5th grade teachers do not need to complete this.) Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Easter Parties
Class Easter parties will take place on Thursday, April 17th. You will need to schedule your party around nap, AMPEL, etc in the afternoon. Please make sure to send home a flyer this week for class parties to give parents enough time to purchase treats.
Progress Reports
Progress report grades must be posted by April 17th at noon. We will not send home progress reports again this nine weeks. Rather a message will be shared through JCampus messaging and on Facebook stating that progress report grades are posted and parents can go to Student Progress Center to check their child's grades. This message will be scheduled to send on April 17th. Minimum of 3 grades are required for all subjects except 1st and 2nd grade Social Living which must have 2 grades.
Finalizing SLTs
We are ready to begin finalizing many SLTs! Once the third benchmark assessment is administered in grades 1–5, you will have five days to grade the assessments and enter the data into your SLT recording sheet. Please place the completed sheet in the black box for review. Admin will go over the data and return the sheet to you, at which point you may enter the information into the LES platform. We are also ready to finalize fluency SLTs. After all make-ups have been completed, enter your data into your fluency spreadsheet and report the results on your SLT in LES. Once everything is entered, email your evaluator so we can complete the process on our end!
*NEW*We are excited to share that we’re planning a Beautification Day after school lets out, on June 7th. We will be inviting our community to volunteer on this day! This will be a wonderful opportunity to make our school even more beautiful!

We’re kicking off the second half of the year with a fun and motivating AR reading challenge! Each week, we’ll be tracking the progress of every homeroom in AR reading, and the class with the highest AR points earned in a week in each grade level will earn some awesome rewards! 🎯
The winning students will get an extra snack from the snack cart 🍪, and the reading teachers will get to pick a treat and drink from the teacher cart! 🥤🎉
To be considered for the incentive, each class in each grade will need a minimum of 80% of their students to complete 3 or more on-grade level lessons each week. The class that has the most on-level lessons completed, with at least 80% of its students completing the lessons, will earn an extra snack from the snack cart each week.
If there is a week in pacing where only 2 lessons are taught, you will need to assign another on-level lesson during that week.
