Bus Driver Appreciation
Although Bus Driver Appreciation Day falls during our spring break, we don’t want to miss the chance to recognize the amazing individuals who play such an important role in our Jr. Patriots’ day! We will be celebrating our incredible bus drivers on Monday, April 28 to show them just how much we value all they do.
Every morning and afternoon, our bus drivers greet students with a smile, ensure their safety, and get them to and from school with care and dedication. Rain or shine, early mornings or late afternoons—they’re there, making a difference.
To help show our appreciation, we encourage all teachers to allow time for students to create heartfelt cards, drawings, or letters to express their gratitude.
Let’s come together to make this a special day for the people who help start and end our students’ school days on the right foot. 💙🚌❤️
🍎✨ May 2 is School Lunch Hero Day! ✨🍎
At CPE, we are beyond lucky to have the BEST cafeteria staff around! These incredible ladies bring more than just meals to our students — they serve up smiles, kindness, and love every single day. Whether it’s remembering a student’s favorite snack or offering a cheerful “good morning,” they brighten our campus and warm our hearts. 💛
They work hard behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly and ensure every Jr. Patriot is fed, happy, and ready to learn. We are SO thankful for their dedication, their positive energy, and the way they make our school feel like home.
Let’s make sure they feel extra appreciated on May 2 — with smiles, thank-you notes, high-fives, and lots of love!
Crystal, Clara, Jonathan, Louise, Felicia, Tosha, Samantha, and Shannon, we see you, we appreciate you, and we LOVE you! 🦸♀️💪💙
🎉 LEAP Pep Rally – Let’s Cheer On Grades 3–5! 🎉
We’re excited to host a LEAP Pep Rally on April 29 at 1:00 PM to celebrate and encourage our 3rd–5th grade Jr. Patriots as they gear up for testing!
📣 Cheer Route:
➡️ Grades PreK–2 will line Hall 1 and the side area near the library.
➡️ Grades 3–5 will walk down Hall 2 and will be cheered on by PreK–2 students by the side library area and down hall 1, then enter the front gym entrance.
🎉 Please note:
➡️ Only testing grades (3–5) will attend the pep rally inside the gym.
➡️ PreK–2 students will cheer from the hallway and side library area as the upper grades make their way to the rally.
Let’s bring the energy and show our support! Wear your spirit shirts, bring your smiles, and help us send our testing students into LEAP feeling confident and encouraged! 💙❤️📚

EOY Google Meets
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the EOY Google Meet for your grade level. This is an excellent place for you to share feedback for the year for curriculum and learning.
Classroom Rostering
Teachers, we are in the process of creating a schedule for grade-level teams to meet and discuss student placement for the upcoming year. To prepare for this, each teacher will need to complete a placement card for every student in your class (pink for girls, blue for boys). The cards will be placed in your box this week, and we ask that they be completed by the time we meet in May.
The goal is to balance the caseloads across grade levels. Special education resource teachers will need to be present for these meetings.
We value your insight and expertise in understanding your students, and we appreciate your help in creating balanced caseloads. (Please note: 5th grade teachers do not need to complete this.) Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Finalizing SLTs
We are ready to begin finalizing many SLTs! Once the third benchmark assessment is administered in grades 1–5, you will have five days to grade the assessments and enter the data into your SLT recording sheet. Please place the completed sheet in the black box for review. Admin will go over the data and return the sheet to you, at which point you may enter the information into the LES platform. We are also ready to finalize fluency SLTs. After all make-ups have been completed, enter your data into your fluency spreadsheet and report the results on your SLT in LES. Once everything is entered, email your evaluator so we can complete the process on our end!
*NEW*We are excited to share that we’re planning a Beautification Day after school lets out, on June 7th. We will be inviting our community to volunteer on this day! This will be a wonderful opportunity to make our school even more beautiful!

The winning students will get an extra snack from the snack cart 🍪, and the reading teachers will get to pick a treat and drink from the teacher cart! 🥤🎉
To be considered for the incentive, each class in each grade will need a minimum of 80% of their students to complete 3 or more on-grade level lessons each week. The class that has the most on-level lessons completed, with at least 80% of its students completing the lessons, will earn an extra snack from the snack cart each week.
If there is a week in pacing where only 2 lessons are taught, you will need to assign another on-level lesson during that week.
