Mr. Harris graduated from The Ohio State University in 1993 with a degree in Zoology. Following college, he worked in research at the Owens Corning Science & Technology Center in Granville, Ohio as part of the Alpha Lab. As a result of that work, he is named as an inventor on three US Patents. While at OCF, he returned to school at Ohio Dominican College for coursework in pursuit of a teaching license. Upon completion, he began his career as a Biology Teacher at Chaminade-Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio where he was also the Quiz Team Adviser, Men's Volleyball Coach, Drama Adviser, and worked with the Marching Band Drumline. In the fall of 1998, he came to Millersport High School as the Biology Teacher and is now in his 26th year at MHS. In addition to his teaching duties over the years, he has also been involved as the Quiz Team Adviser, Student Council Adviser, assisted with both the choir and band programs, and much more. In 2004, Mr Harris completed his Master's Degree in adminstration via the Rural Principal Preparation Program through Ohio University.
In his leisure time, Mr. Harris enjoys the sport of sailing and is a US Sailing National Race Officer. Each summer, he travels the midwest and beyond to officiate at a number of regattas including National, Continental, and World Championship events. He is also a member of US Sailing's Race Officer Training & Certification Subcommittee and trains race officials throughout the country. When not at a regatta, he can usually be found either on his 30' Carver Santego, SummerzCool, at Put-in-Bay, or on his center console, Hull Pass, on Buckeye Lake. Mr. Harris resides in the district, on the north side of Buckeye Lake.
