The newly adopted enVision curriculum includes an RTI program referred to as the Math Diagnosis and Intervention System (MDIS).
While we will not presently use enVision's Digital Diagnostic features, we can benefit from their print Diagnostic Assessments and booklets of support for Tier 2 and Tier 3 Math Intervention.
MDIS is separated for K-3 and 4-5 students.
Using iReady Diagnostic overall placement level, assign MDIS Diagnostic Assessment to determine best initial starting point.
For example: iReady shows a third-grade student at an overall grade level 2 with their greatest area of concern in Numbers and Operations, a level 1.
You would assign the MDIS Grade Level 2 Diagnostic Form A, Booklet A - Numbers, Place Value, Money, and Patterns
Note: Each Diagnostic Assessment is in parts, it is recommended to assess just parts, as the entire assessment could be lengthy and covers all domains.
Diagnose
Score student's assessment using the Individual Record Form for correct grade level.
The sample below, figure 1, shows an intended proficiency score of 12/17. As the student scored below proficient, the assessment for the previous grade level was was administered.
If the student "passes" the grade 1 level, as seen in figure 2, you would still begin your instruction on the Grade 2 level.
If the student continued to "not pass" you would administer the grade K level.
Assumingly, the student would pass the K level and you would begin your instruction on Grade 1 level.
If the student did not pass the K level, you would begin your instruction on a K level.
Once you have determined the student's proficiency level, you can identify lessons to use for intervention.

Figure 2. Student proficient at grade level below.
Intervene
Each intervention lesson is intended to take approx. 20 minutes. Using the Teacher's Edition, address the teacher directed lesson, error intervention as appropriate, as well as the brief formative assessment at the end of the lesson.
Note: Often the formatives include manipulatives, review in advance so you are prepared.
Monitor
Assess using the Form B version of the initial Diagnostic Assessment. After every 4 lessons (bi-weekly), you will need a data point. If you are not ready to give form B, you may use the average of your formative assessments as your bi-weekly score. Be sure to note this in the notes section of your EdInsight data.
How to document student learning
Use the following progress monitoring template to track student attendance and bi-weekly progress.
How to share my analysis of student progress
Upload your Tier 2 Data into EdInsight after assessment. Be sure to include notes as to what benchmark or skill has been taught.
In uploading to EdInsight, you are sharing student progress; be prepared to discuss student data during MTSS meetings or parent conferences.
Tier 3 Data will be entered into EdInsight by the Math Interventionist.
How to access materials
Teacher-led lessons can be downloaded from Savvas (see Table of Contents > MDIS) and sent to PrintSolutions.
