Students who have previously been identified as Tier 3 will receive interventions.
A list of your tiered students is provided to you by Wicklow's MTSS Coordinator.
Your students' designated WIN groups will be provided to you by the ELA Coaches.
Walk -to-Intervention (WIN) has a designated 30 minute AM and PM Block embedded into the WKLE Master Schedule. It is during this time that both Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 interventions will occur.
Depending on current data, students will be grouped on need considering the following areas. Reading endorsed teachers and interventionists will provide instruction for a specific group.
Phonemic Awareness
Phonics
Comprehension
Vocabulary
Writing/Grammar
Oral Reading Fluency
Tier 3 students who are proving successful after receiving 6-8 weeks of intervention can be recommended for a transition to the previous tier at a weekly MTSS meeting.
The resources shown in the buttons below are approved by SCPS for Tier 3 Intervention. Depending on the needs of your classroom, you and your ELA Coach will determine which resources will be most beneficial for your students.
Click on the buttons below for specific details pertaining to each curriculum.
Tier 3 Interventions should occur 3-4 times per week for 20-30 minutes in a face-to-face small group or one-on-one setting.
WIN Time allows for 4 days of intervention so Tier 2 and Tier 3 student's needs can be met in a structured manner.
Instruction should occur specifically as directed by the resource.
How do I monitor progress?
Tier 3 providers will record data on a bi-weekly basis. Data tracking will occur through EdInsight and through Wicklow's School wide Data Tracking Sheet.
