Who are Tier 1 students?

Your Tier 1 students are ALL of your students. All students are entitled to Tier 1, or general education.

Wonders curriculum is designed to fulfill all needs of an ELA block including Phonics, Phonemic Awareness (K-2), Vocabulary, Comprehension, Writing & Grammar, and fluency.
Wonders has a digital component for each student and the lessons are divided up by Units and Weeks. The flow of instruction allows for introduction of key concepts, building, and extending knowledge.

Monitor all student progress through the use of formative assessments, performance based tasks, written responses, summative assessments, and/or alternative assessments.
Assessments and progress, both formal and informal, can be documented and tracked on the schoolwide Data Tracking Page for your grade level.

Tier 1 lessons, strategies, and benchmark based tasks can be planned as a team or independently using the SCPS Curriculum Frameworks.

Wicklow Instructional Coaches are available to assist with Tier 1 instruction including providing support with benchmark clarifications, modeling, small group guidance, and support with resources and planning.
