About the Program

Bridge Hawaii is an inpatient service, creating an environment of group living in a residential setting. This program utilizes traditional, Native-Hawaiian cultural practices, and spiritual practices as a form of therapy in the process of recovery and relapse prevention.

NATIVE HAWAIIAN CULTURAL HEALING PRACTICES

  • Engage with kupuna about with traditional conflict resolution, pow-wow values and respect, appreciation for interpersonal connections

ACUPUNCTURE

  • Receive treatment through a licensed naturopatheic doctor twice a week

  • Be provided nutritional advice and counseling

  • Smoking cessation program

VOCATIONAL SKILLS BUILDING

  • Providing employment training (if needed)

  • Provided standard office equipment for learning

  • Mock interviews

  • Transportation to job interviews

ON-SITE GARDENING

  • Engage in growing horticulture and other sustainable foods

SUPPORT GROUPS

  • Clients will be provided outlets to community support groups that address their substance use

  • Transportation provided to meetings

Eligibility Criteria

DISCLOSURES

  • Willing to commit to at least three (3) months stay

  • Must be willing to work a weekly set of household volunteering hours; based on hours of employment

  • Be clean and sober for 30 days prior to admission

  • be 18 years or older

  • Not a danger to self or others

  • Ambulatory (you can walk around)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Must have a Case Manager referral

  • Meet State of Hawaii ADAD financial requirements

  • Provide valid ID and verification (assistance provided to those who have lost their IDs)

  • Provide current TB test

Insurance/Financial Details

  • Must be able to pay $290 a month, plus a $100 security deposit upon admission

  • Most forms of public and private insurance accepted
