Virtual School Tour on Wednesday! No written work this week. Click:
Last week we looked at some photos of schools in the past. This week we are looking at a website Ask About Ireland, they have a great section on schools in the past. Take some time to have a look through it and read about: education in ancient Ireland, hedge schools, you can look at some old school rolls books and listen to some oral history about schools in the past.

In your SESE copy write the title Schools in the Past.
In a few lines describe the ways in which schools have changed over time.
Give a few examples of how schools have not changed.
Predict how schools may change in the future. (September will probably be very different in schools because of Covid-19)
You may like to draw a picture of a classroom in the past and one in the future.
This week we are learning about how sound is made.
Sound is made by air molecules vibrating.
When you clap your hands, the air around your hands shakes. This is the air molecules vibrating.
Open the powerpoint presentation to learn more about how sounds are made.
Have a look at page 122 and 123 in Earthlink. They are scanned here because most girls don't have the book. This chapter in the book explains about settlements and settlement patterns the second page explains about homelessness in Ireland. The book is quite old and there is lots of information on the news about homelessness in recent years so have a think about it and see if you were writing about the topic of homelessness would you have more to say. You can answer the questions into you SESE copy.
