Take time for prayer.

June is upon us all. May we each unite, support, guide and offer reassurance to those in our family and different community groups. June injects the unrivalled beauty and wonder into the world through the growth of the vast array of flowers which God has urged us to plant. Through flowers we absorb nature’s fixating beauty. May we also lead the way in planting seeds of friendship, love and kindness in society, subsequently creating a different but equally valuable reality, that of harmony amongst people.

We place an element of trust within God to lead us down pathways shaped by safety and love. Through prayer we can enhance that trust and connection to God, openly relating our plea to be guided to behave righteously and respectfully.

The prayer for this week is one which balances on that notion of trust in God. It asks for guidance, “Lead the way God”. So, read this prayer each morning and then approach the day with an underlying belief that God is watching over you, ensuring you are protected in your journey.

The mass offerings across the country are a truly unique and uplifting option for each of us. Having the exposure to numerous ceremonies enables us to maintain a deeply strong connection to our faith. Also, it is through such mass services that we may witness a message of fundamental meaning, something that resonates powerfully within us.

This week offer yourself a day whereby you tune into a mass service. Allow yourself undisturbed time to fully experience the mass, what the key message is and also time for personal prayer. Pray for something you are passionate about, someone you love deeply, somewhere you wish to return to.

When the mass concludes, take a brief moment to yourself. Then, write down one thing you took from the mass, one message that held your attention that moment longer than expected.

Reflection work;

Our reflective practice this week is a development upon the admirable work carried out last week whereby you were all delving into personal responses having being exposed to a piece of set writing. This week a new piece of text has been provided and much like last week you are each required to read, reflect and respond accordingly, portraying your own ideas and thoughts. Allow yourself adequate time to think about the true currents of feelings that the writing ignites within each of you. Here we go, read slowly and think meaningfully – When the time arrives for the confirmation to be celebrated, what type of person do you wish to be known for at that moment? Can you clearly identify three characteristics which you would like be associated with? Would being labelled trustworthy be something you might desire? How about being noted as being respectful? Or, would you instantly wish to be called supportive? Think, the confirmation is a moment when we celebrate our continued journey with our faith, a monumental forward step. It is a moment when the light of God casts its brightness down on each of you individually. Being confirmed is a chance to grow as a person, a chance to leap towards new aspirations. What one defining quality would you like to improve upon when you are confirmed?

Remember – Someone who seeks to shine happiness onto others will have that light radiate around them also.

Last week, a prayer was chosen that sought to enter your heart into a bubble of peace and comfort, retaining the knowledge that God is present and provides supportive strength for each of us. The prayer turned up the volume of the notion of hope, inviting us to remember that hope lives comfortably within each of us.

This week, read the prayer below and seek to add an additional ring to your ever growing knowledge. This prayer chases courage for those who read it. It asks for determination to overcome uncertainties as we venture into the “golden island of tomorrow”.
