"Universal Logic: Past, Present and Future"
In this lecture we explain the starting point of universal logic as a general theory of logical structures similarly to universal alegbra as a general theory of algebraic structures. We point out one of the central features of this approach: the lack of any axiom. We discuss the question of the diversity of logical systems from this prespective emphasizing the value of unification of universal logic. We then describe how universal logic has evolved into a project promoting logic in all its aspects, and developing its relations with other fields. In a third part we discuss what kinds of future developments can be expected in particular through the World Logic Prize and the World Logic Day.
