Medical Care for All
Scott Ball
My project advances elements of my creative practice Iām working to develop ā my own digital graffiti style ā while being in dialogue with the research I conducted. my project addresses the sense of urgency and necessity that many people share over having full, equitable healthcare. In my research, I found that the author Thom Hartman, of The Hidden History of American Healthcare, highlights the necessity of universal healthcare by focusing on the cruel, senseless COVID 19 deaths in the United States. I hope that my project creatively and succinctly highlights both the message and feelings of urgency. I hope this work could act as a jumping off point for people to be engaged in activism and political action for Medicare For All.
About the Artist
My work is a combination of my creative/imaginative side as well as my passionate/activist side. I use my creativity to shine light on important issues in this world such as immigration and climate change. My main medium is digital art, I use different apps like procreate, photoshop and illustrator to create my work. Somebody I take inspiration from is Yolanda Lopez as she was a pioneer in the Chicano Art Movement. My artwork is a part of me that I want the world to see. I want people who are open minded and curious about the world to be the ones to interact with my art. My goal as an artist is to make art that moves people and challenges societal norms.
