My project is a digital art series which goes over the issue of the rise of Artificial Intelligence and its effect on humanity. With the current state of AI, people are reasonably starting to raise concerns over how it can affect society. The project is a three picture series which illustrates where we are right now in the development of AI, and the potential futures that we may experience depending on how the AI is handled. I created these illustrations by hand through the digital art programs Paint Tool SAI 2 and Procreate. I also implemented the use of AI generated artwork into the illustrations to represent human coexistence with the AI, as currently we are in a fair state of peace with it as its sentience has yet to be proven. I delved into some new territory as I have never experimented with AI-generated art, but it seemed like a great way to execute this project. I wish for my work to inform people about how AI can be beneficial or malicious to us in the long run. AI can generate art within seconds, mimic voices with a few samples, and is close to being able to act just like a human would in conversation. The future of AI still remains a mystery, as it’s too early to tell its outcome. 

About the Artist

My artwork mostly doesn’t cover any issues regarding politics or anything related to that, but rather comical and cartoony themes. I generally draw characters from fantasy settings which allows flexibility for anatomy in most cases, although I still try to make somewhat accurate anatomy when working with humanoids which can cause me some struggles. My goal at the end of the day is to draw something I’m happy with. When I started drawing I used graphite, but now I primarily draw through my computer and pen display. I was inspired to make digital art from watching various cartoons including Spongebob Squarepants, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. When I draw my original characters, I strive for the finished product to properly convey the strength and personality behind them based on the elements I illustrate. I believe my artwork could be enjoyed by those who like cartoony styles. I’m not limited to cartoon artwork, as I sometimes venture into humanoids when drawing anime-style characters. When creating my artworks, I usually have my own satisfaction in mind when it comes to finishing them. If others are pleased with what I create, I’m appreciative of them. I plan to keep making more, whether it's digital illustrations, rigged 2D avatars, or graphic designs.
