This project is a compilation of footage of the local car culture. The footage was shot on an 8mm tape with a Sony Handycam. I chose this medium because it resonates with my style and the lifestyle I’m trying to showcase. My goal for this piece is simply to showcase car culture and spin it into a nostalgic style that some people resonate with.
About the Artist
My multimedia work usually portrays lifestyles and cultures that I surround myself in, whether its physically or mentally. Throughout my life, I have grown to love the cultures of music, visual art, fashion, and car culture. Different mediums I work with are Graphic Design through Illustrator/Photoshop, film photography, and lately video work through VHS, which is starting to grow into my favorite medium. The purpose of my work is to capture what I think looks cool and to express my interests to the world. I'd like to think my work draws inspiration from all sorts of places. Whether it's through different photographers I see on social media, different musicians I listen to, and even other things like films and automobiles. I don't want to box myself within a certain medium or genre and a goal of mine would be able to have creative freedom and be able to create what I want and work with whoever I want whenever. I want people who have inspired me, to engage in my work. And I hope to inspire others through my work. Even though I am still finding my own ways, I hope to pave the way for whoever is next. I currently run a creative collective called 'iiinfluenced' and a lot of my work is under the Instagram account (@iiinfluenced).
