Gentle Mutt

My project is a series of four low poly images debunking perceptions of pit bulls as innately dangeorous animals. One image showcases my pit bull playing with my niece to show that pit bulls can be family pets and good with kids were the myth is that they are dangerous around kids. Another image shows a pitbull kissing my hand like a gentlemen showing that they can be trained and be kind around people. And the last image shows a dog-tag hanging with a cold and dark colors to show that once they are in dog shelters they are euthanized almost immediately. What I am going to be doing to create my serious is by taking photos of my mom's pit bully doing these actions and taking those photos and bringing them into light room and work on the colors and certain adjustments and taking them into adobe illustrator and making it into a low poly effect and then into photoshop for any last adjustments. My projects seeks to show that pit bulls can be like any other dog, all that is needed is training and proper care.

About the Artist

My artworks – from the past to the present, and into the future – fall under one idea: being able to get people to connection emotionally with issues/subjects that they may or may not be aware about. It is important to me that I am making something that is important to me, to be able to share with others how I am feeling about something, and hopefully others will connect and feel something as well. When creating my works I use a combination of forms both digital ­– my camera, adobe fresco, photoshop, adobe Lightroom classic, and adobe illustrator – and traditional – graphite, pen, ink, and charcoal. Overall, the intent of my work is to spread awareness, to help people become aware of an issue, and stir up their emotions enough to motivate them to get involved.
