All Welding Levels will allow chipping hammers and wire brushes. In addition Levels 2, 3 &4 will allow grinders with wire wheels and grinding disks for light grinding needs.
Proper Approved PPE is MANDITORY! All Students must have welding boots, cotton or fire resistant jeans, safety glasses, welding gloves, welding hood and long sleeve cotton or FR shirt!

This cutting contest will be accuracy not speed. You will be given a template cut out of an (S) and you will trace the S on your plate and then you will make your cut. You will then turn in the plate not the S. The dimension of this plate is 3/8" x 7" x 4". The length will vary from 7-1/4" to 7-3/4"
IMPORTANT: Each individual needs bring their own their own PPE this includes, clear/dark face shield, safety glasses and gloves that are to be worn at all times while in the cutting area.

*All Students that register for a welding certification level are automatically entered for compete in the Cutting Contest Challenge.
Students with the best under water weld passes will have the opportunity to earn a Dive Coin that will qualify them for the Underwater Welding and Diving State Event this summer at The Ocean Corp in Houston.
At the State event students will compete for TOC Scholarships and prizes as well as the opportunity to earn an AWS D3.6 Welding Certification.
