Single or Multi-Pass: Single or multiple pass as required to perform a 3/16” fillet weld.

IMPORTANT INFO:
All Welding Levels will allow chipping hammers and wire brushes. In addition to that Levels 1&2 will allow battery powered grinders with wire wheels, and Levels 3&4 will allow grinders with wire wheels and grinding disks for light grinding needs.

The Cutting Contest will be utilizing Propelyne as the Alternate Cutting Gas

Registered Students will earn their way to compete in three rounds of cutting challenges. Challenges my be timed, or for accuracy and/or both. After each round only the top scores will advance to the next rounds challenge.
IMPORTANT: Each individual needs bring their own their own PPE this includes, clear/dark face shield, safety glasses and gloves that are to be worn at all times while in the cutting area.

*All Students that register for a welding certification level are automatically entered for compete in the Cutting Contest Challenge.
Registered Students are eligible to take the Tool ID and Safety Knowledge Test. This event consists of Identifying 25 tools form the Tool List below and answering 50 question (T/F & Multiple Choice) from the Safety Study Guide Below.
Top 10 winners will be recognized.

Pipeliner Challenge - Winner will receive Schoalrship towards attendign Mainliners Welding Academy!
Students with the best under water weld passes will have the opportunity to earn a Dive Coin that will qualify them for the Underwater Welding and Diving State Event this summer at The Ocean Corp in Houston.
At the State event students will compete for TOC Scholarships and prizes as well as the opportunity to earn an AWS D3.6 Welding Certification.
Winner of the Pipeliner Challenge will receive:
One free class at Mainliners estimate: $2600
One Selected Scholarship Winner will Receive:
One free class at Mainliners estimate: $2600
Each Competiting Senior Receives:
$500 Tuition Scholarship
One Selected Scholarship Winner will Receive:
$1,000 Tuition Scholarship
Placing Students in each Level and Event will Receive a Tuition Scholarship to the Ocean Corp and a Dive Coin to compete this Summer for a Full Tuition Scholarship!
Placing In the Underwater Welding Event Winners will Receive:
1st - $1,500 Tuition Schoalrship
2nd - $1,000 Tuition Scholarship
3rd - $750 Tuition Scholarship
$10,000 to be split into multiple Scholarship winners.
One Selected Scholarship Winner will Receive:
1-$2,000 Scholarship
1- $1,000 Scholarship
Each Competing Junior & Senior Receives:
$500 Tuition Scholarship
