!!! This is NOT a complete guide. This page rather serves as overview and reminder. Please, check out the full guide to learn more about blocking. !!!
"Blocking" at TT means: stopping the wurm from spitting out eggs, husks, and drool spit with reflects + invulnerability
Revenant can only block eggs, no husks or drool spits as it doesn't have access to invulnerability
1) Prepare your character:
Build: Equip the Legendary Centaur Stance / Ventari
Ideally, use the Conduit elite specialisation for extra energy gained with F2 Release Potention: Monk
Gear: ideally tanky, but any works
Jade Tech Offensive/Defensive Protocol buffs will grant you extra stats + boons (require EoD + Jade Bots mastery)
Weapons: e.g. sword + shield
2) Learn the 1st phase wurm attacks:
animation video: https://youtu.be/uR3OQGfRnec
wide spin: large orange aoe around the wurm -> knockback and damage => dodge/block personally
small spin + drool spit: also a large aoe around the wurm while the wurm curls up, then spits out many small drool aoes -> knockback and damage from the spin; high damage from drool => dodge
egg + husk spit (same animation): the wurm pulls back its head, to then move forward and spit out either 3 eggs or 1 husk; this repeats 3 times => this attack you want to "block" with reflect
3) Know how to block different spit types:
Eggs: 40s cd; can be blocked with reflect or invulnerability -> Protective Solace (utility skill), alternatively: shield 5, staff 3
Husks (80-90s cd) + Drool: can only be blocked with invulnerability ->Revenant cannot use any invuln skills and thus is not able to block husks/drool
4) Blocking
When you start learning to block at TT, you can just practice dodging to stay alive and on the right spot during your first runs. Once you manage, try to use your skills to actually block some of the wurm's attacks.
Position: to block with shield 5 or staff 3, you must be in the very middle of then wurm, see invuln spot; for blocking with Protective Solace, place the tablet on the wurm
attack the wurm when it spawns to get into combat and have more energy available; make sure you'll be on Ventari/Centaur Stance
with the Conduit elite specialisation, you can use the F2 skill to gain extra energy
Egg blocking:
- 1st spit:
- activate Protective Solace,
- if you see a husk get out => keep up Protective Solace for the next spit (eggs) and deactivate it afterwards
- if you don't see anything get out = eggs blocked => you can deactivate Protective Solace
- following spits:
- try to always get Protective Solace up when the wurm can spit eggs, deactivate the skills when you don't need to block (keep track of spit cooldowns)
- as Conduit, you can use F2 Release Potention: Monk to get extra energy
- If there is another blocker inside the wurm with you, there is a chance that they have blocked husks - you won't be able to see a difference from blocking eggs.
Drool blocking:
- not possible as Revenant
Avoiding wide spins:
- As you don't have to worry about positioning yourself, feel free to dodge; block skills can be used, too - keep in mind: these cost energy: shield 5, staff 3, Greatsword 4
Please, also remember:
- Join the 2nd subgroup and inform your commander that you intend to block for easier communication.
- When there are more blockers with you, they may block husks, therefore you won't see anything getting out even when only using a projectile block skill. Blockers should communicate and note down "h" for blocked husks, and "e" for blocked eggs.
