The Crimson mechanic is quite simple. It does not require players to stay together as one group.
There are three extractors/containers on the sides of the arena. These need to be filled with phytotoxins.
As soon as all containers are full, the wurm will become vulnerable.
During the event, blue, red, and yellow phytotoxin clouds will spawn in the arena. Running through a cloud will give you the respective phytotoxin as a buff.
Each extractor is dedicated to one of these colors (shown by symbols above the extractors). The buffs can be filled into the container of the same color by running over it.
Players can have one of each buff at a time (1 blue, 1 red, 1 yellow)
It is not possible to have more than 1 of the same color
Collected buffs last for 1 min on players
Each cloud holds 20 buffs
Each containers needs 30 buffs to be full
swiftness, leap/dash/jump skills, and mounts help to run faster
teleportation (instant travel) skills remove the buffs (so do not use teleports!)
It is possible to run colors again right after the damage phase. However, it might be needed to kill veteran wurms in the middle of the arena first to keep blockers (special team) safe.
Stop damaging the wurm at ~10%. Slow down damaging a bit earlier, at ~15%, as the wurm will keep taking a bit of damage from conditions and people not paying too much attention. Two out of the three extractors, usually red and yellow, are filled while waiting for all three heads on the map to be ready to be decapitated. The other one, blue, will stay empty until the commander will give the go-signal.
