WE THREW IT AWAY

Plymouth Argyle 3-3 Birmingham City

An entertaining but rather disappointing end to Blues’ trip to Home Park.

A six-goal thriller with former Exeter City man Jay Stansfield opening the scoring.

Jordan James doubled Blues’ advantage, adding a fifth to his tally this season.

The home side were back in the game moments later however after an error from captain Dion Sanderson that Joe Edwards capitalised on.

Nonetheless we went into the break a goal ahead but found ourselves a man down within three minutes into the second half.

Krystian Bielik went in too dangerous for referee Graham Scott’s liking and gave the Polish international his marching orders.

Blues absorbed some pressure from the Pilgrim’s and pounced on through Juninho Bacuna, grabbing his fourth of the campaign.

But Ben Waine pulled the Argyle back into the action once again.

Getting his foot in to give them another look back into the match.

And they got that with four minutes to go through Morgan Whittaker.

His effort beating Ruddy with the assist of the post.

But enough to level the game.

A well-fought point for Plymouth but one the Blues players must feel disappointed with.

Having the lead for nearly 75 minutes and to lose it late on will be a hard one to take for Rooney’s team.

On a more positive note though, performances are improving with players like James in sublime form.

Have a good Christmas everyone and we’ll see you boxing day against Stoke.

Keep Right On.
