ROONEY'S SECOND LOSS

Birmingham City 0-2 Hull City

Wayne Rooney suffers his second defeat in charge of Birmingham City losing 2-0 to Hull in his first game at St. Andrew's.

Before the game, my brother and I headed into town to meet Mike Skinner of The Streets.

A personal favourite of mine and Jack's, a pleasure to meet him, proper geezer.

Turned out to be the best bit of the evening!

We headed to the Roost before the game, saw the lineup, I thought it was an improvement from Saturday but Jack's face said it all.

In fairness we had a good start to the game with Dembele missing a great opportunity to take the lead early on.

The Blues winger scuffing his chance in front of goal.

However the visitors were gifted their opener through a dreadful backpass from Manny Longelo.

The number 23 selling Ruddy short with Liam Delap pouncing, taking the ball round the big Blues keeper, rolling it into the empty net.

The Manchester City loanee bagging his fourth goal of the season for the Tigers.

The half soon began swing in favour for the team in orange.

Rosenior's men were moving the ball about nicely, skipping past our best challenges, finding themselves in down the flanks on several occasions.

Rooney and the team were booed off at half time, not something I agree with but I can understand some fan's frustrations.

Again Blues started the half well and Stansfield perhaps should've made more of Ollie Burke's cross.

Opportunities in the game quickly fizzled out and Jaden Philogene doubled Hull's advantage.

Of course an ex-Villa player, adding to the tally who've scored down against Blues these past few seasons.

Hull again should've had more and we were lucky the score was only 2 in the end.

A failed corner routine between Longelo and Dembele got Hull on the counter and failed to find the back of the net three times, really letting the defence off the hook.

Full time and a chorus of boos rang around the stadium.

Fans are just not happy with the way things are going at the moment and it was clear to see with how those in the Gil Merrick reacted towards Rooney going down the tunnel.

He's got a big job on his hands now.

Up against it from the off coming in for a sacked Eustace, he's changed a winning team, and the fans are now really on his back because of it.

He may want to implement his own style, he may want to play better football, that's all fair enough.

But not right now.

This team was winning and the fans, myself included, was happy about it.

If Rooney wants his own style he's got to do it when he can not in his first two games in charge.

All far too rushed for my liking and he's not got any easier games coming up either.

Southampton - Ipswich - Sunderland are his next three.

Can he win any of those? Let me know your thoughts in the video's comments.

Keep Right On
