To budi nadu u svjetliju budućnost.
CONCLUSION:
At the last mobility, which took place in September 2024 in Croatia, we held a round table on the topic "The Future is in Our Hands". A discussion was held on how much we personally can do to protect the environment. Students and teachers presented examples of good practice from their local community, and at the end we considered what other activities we can carry out to protect the environment, reduce the harmful impact of climate change and be more successful in sustainability. Students reflected on the project activities in which they participated and expressed their critical opinion on how much they had an impact on their daily lives. Watch their video.
Each school listed new projects that were launched thanks to participation in this Erasmus project, and it was generally concluded that sustainable development is an extremely important topic for our future and that the activities that have been started will continue. In Primary school Barilović, marking significant dates for our environment has become an integral part of the school curriculum, and the ecological activities we carried out have now been designed better and have included a larger number of students.
Primary school Barilović wants to launch the following projects: Waste sorting project at our school in Belaj - Zero waste schools, The world of butterflies in art and science, Invasive species - signal cancer and Tree protection from beavers). The quantitative analysis will include the number of participants in the activities that will be launched and implemented in the local community, the use of ICT tools and artificial intelligence, the number of eTwinning projects, the involvement of students with disabilities. The qualitative analysis will include reports from coordinators and participants on the activities carried out and involvement in solving problems, finding new solutions and innovative ideas related to sustainability. The quality team will present the conclusions at the meeting of the teachers' council, the school board, and the interested public will be informed about the activities being implemented via the website and social networks. The students will try to encourage members of the local community to get involved in environmental protection activities and thus have a positive impact on the wider community. This project encouraged us to apply for Erasmus accreditation so that we could continue to implement planned activities at an international level, enriching our experiences, coming up with new ideas and solutions, and creating a positive attitude towards a sustainable future. Our goal is to use the acquired knowledge and experience for the benefit of sustainable development in our communities.
Teachers who participated in the activities related to the project reported that they stimulated their curiosity, critical thinking regarding climate change and sustainable development, teamwork with other teachers in the school but also at an international level. They emphasize that they were encouraged to feel responsible for the environment and are ready to take concrete actions. Before the start of the project, research showed that less than half of them were actively engaged in implementing activities and education for environmental protection. Also, when we joined the Erasmus project in 2019, the team consisted of four members, and now it has increased to about twenty members. This project has also contributed to this. In the survey we conducted among students, which you can also see on this page, almost all students declare their commitment to environmental protection actions. Furthermore, students' motivation to learn and take new initiatives related to environmental protection has increased. Twenty-four students have expressed their intention to participate in activities aimed at raising awareness of the local community regarding sustainable development. This raises hope for a brighter future.
